University of Cape Town (UCT) Vice-Chancellor Professor Mamokgethi Phakeng has been named the winner of the inaugural Africa Education Medal, launched this year by T4 Education and HP in collaboration with Intel and Microsoft.
VC Professor Mamokgethi Phakeng has dedicated her honorary doctorate granted by the University of Ottawa in Canada to “three of the many African women who chose to challenge the status quo and fight for a world where women are equal”.
